Marketing calls from loan apps, property schemes, and insurance companies. Robocalls. Repeat calls from a number you have already told to stop. For most people in Pakistan, unwanted calls are a daily interruption, and the good news is that you have more control than you think.
There are two different problems here, and they need two different solutions. The first is a specific number you want to silence — an individual caller. The second is the flood of telemarketing calls from many different numbers. This guide covers both, across every network, using only free and official methods.
Block a Specific Number on Your Phone
For a single persistent caller, your phone's built-in blocking is the fastest and most reliable tool. It works regardless of your network because the block happens on your device.
On Android
Open your recent calls list, find the number, tap and hold it (or open the three-dot menu), and select Block or Block/report spam. On most Android phones — Samsung, Xiaomi, Infinix, Tecno, and others — this silences all future calls and messages from that number automatically.
For stronger, automatic protection, install Google Phone and Google Messages from the Play Store, set them as your default calling and messaging apps, then turn on Caller ID & spam protection in each app's settings. These use Google's global spam database to flag or silence known spam numbers before they even ring.
On iPhone
Go to Phone → Recents, tap the information icon next to the number, scroll down, and tap Block this Caller. To block texts, open the conversation, tap the sender at the top, and choose Block this Caller. You can also enable Silence Unknown Callers in Settings → Phone, which sends any number not in your contacts straight to voicemail — powerful, but use it knowingly since it also silences legitimate unknown callers.
Unwanted Contact Beyond Voice Calls
Blocking is not limited to phone calls. If the same person is reaching you across WhatsApp and other apps, block and report them inside each app too. Stop Telemarketing Calls Across All Networks — DNCR
Blocking numbers one by one does nothing against telemarketing, because those campaigns rotate through many numbers. For that, Pakistan has the Do Not Call Register (DNCR), PTA's official system that bars all legally-registered marketing companies from contacting your number.
To register, open your SMS app on any network — Jazz, Zong, Telenor, or Ufone — type reg and send it to 3627. You will get a confirmation, and within one to two business days your number is removed from all legitimate telemarketing lists. To reverse it later, text unreg to the same number. It is free beyond standard SMS charges and works identically on every network.
Network-Level Call Blocking Services
Each operator also offers its own call-management features, usually accessible through the network's official app or helpline:
Jazz users can manage call and SMS blocking through the Jazz World app or by calling 111. Zong offers call-block options via the My Zong app or helpline 310. Telenor provides call management through the My Telenor app or helpline 345. Ufone users can use the My Ufone app or call 333.

When Blocking Is Not Enough
If a number is not just annoying but harassing, threatening, or fraudulent, blocking only hides the problem — it does not stop the person or create any record. For those cases, report the number to PTA (covered in the companion guide) and, for anything threatening or involving fraud, to the FIA Cybercrime Wing.
